CIA Blocked the IRS from Investigating Hunter Biden's Business Partner

In a letter dated March 21, 2024, addressed to CIA Director William J. Burns, Chairmen James Comer of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability and Jim Jordan of the House Committee on the Judiciary have escalated their investigation into President Biden. The congressional leaders are exploring whether there is enough evidence to draft articles of impeachment against President Biden, relating to allegations of potential abuse of power in obstructing investigations into his son, Hunter Biden.

The communication details that the investigation—endorsed by a House resolution on December 13, 2023—is partially spurred by whistleblower claims that the CIA interfered in the IRS and DOJ's efforts to interview a key witness, Patrick Kevin Morris, in the tax investigations involving Hunter Biden. This intervention, as alleged, would be part of a broader pattern of deviations from standard investigative procedures that purportedly benefitted Hunter Biden, as testified by other whistleblowers in the spring of 2023.

Chairmen Comer and Jordan have requested that the CIA provide all documents and communications related to the DOJ and IRS investigation of Hunter Biden, and specifically any materials involving Patrick Kevin Morris, by April 4, 2024. The letter implies that these documents are crucial for determining the extent of the alleged preferential treatment and any involvement by the President in hindering the investigation.

The letter, also copied to Ranking Members Jamie Raskin of the Oversight Committee and Jerrold L. Nadler of the Judiciary Committee, signifies an intensified phase of the impeachment inquiry, bringing the CIA into the fold of this high-stakes political scrutiny.
