Issue #613: *decentralization intensifies*

Yesterday, the team behind Slush Pool and Braiins, in collaboration with Bitcoin Core contributor Matt Corallo, launched Stratum V2; a new mining pool protocol that is more efficient, requires less infrastructure, and will aid in the decentralization of mining. All around, a HUGE leap forward for the mining world and our journey towards the ideal of making Bitcoin as distributed as possible.

Things like this are what get your Uncle Marty all hot and bothered. Dedicated individuals working hard over the course of years to design a new mining pool protocol for the benefit of Bitcoiners everywhere. Kudos to the Slush Pool team and Mr. Corallo.

Is something like this really a surprise though? Now that Bitcoin is established, those who have a stake in the system are highly incentivized to ensure that every aspect of Bitcoin improves.

If you want to learn more about Stratum V2 and the importance of decentralizing mining pools, I would check out this conversation with the Slush team from earlier this year and this conversation with Matt Corallo from last year.
