Democratic Socialism is not the answer

It's been a relatively slow news week around my TweetDeck and I have been without a phone for the last few days, so I've been revisiting Friedrich A. Hayek's The Road to Serfdom after a recent conversation with Parker Lewis reminded me I hadn't read it in a while. As the fervor around Democratic Socialism continues to increase here in the Land of the Free, I thought it would be a good idea to share this incredible piece of literature with you freaks.

The path to Hell is pathed with good intentions. If you haven't read this incredibly lucid warning yet, do yourself a favor and set aside the hour and a half it takes to blow through the condensed version. History has proven time and time again that it is impossible to micromanage masses of men via some central authority without using violence, coercion, and censorship. We are no different, even with our incredible technologies and interconnectivity. Competition will always exist, and this is a good thing.

Final thought...

Being without a phone is extremely liberating.
