01 / How it works

Three steps, no middleman.

Pay a flat membership

No premium, no deductible to burn through before anything happens, and no network to stay inside. One predictable monthly number.

Submit the bill

You get care as a cash-pay patient, which most providers quietly prefer. CrowdHealth's team then negotiates the bill down before anyone is asked to fund it.

The crowd funds it

Other members cover what remains. Money lands in your account in about 9 days from a complete submission.

02 / The receipts

Does it actually pay?

CrowdHealth publishes its own results every month, which almost nobody in health care does. Members funded $2.3M of each other’s bills in June 2026 alone, 2.7 times a year earlier.

78% of every request on record is under $500.

Most health spending is ordinary, not catastrophic. You are not insuring routine care, you are sharing it — and when it isn’t routine, the bills scrolling above are the 1% tail the crowd covered anyway.

03 / The fine print

What it won’t do.

CrowdHealth is not insurance, and that cuts both ways. Nothing obliges anyone to pay your bill. Of the 17,608 requests published line by line, 783 were declined or only partly funded — 4.4%. Read the exclusions before you join, not after.

01

Previously diagnosed, documented, or symptomatic prior to joining

02

Annual Wellness maximum exceeded

03

Submitted more than 6 months past the date of service

04

Dental care outside of Annual Wellness

05

Supplements

If a condition was diagnosed or symptomatic before you signed up, CrowdHealth will not fund it. That single rule decides whether this works for you, and it is worth being honest with yourself about before you switch.

04 / Published results

Every month, on the record.

CrowdHealth posts a results page each month and then moves on, so nobody ever sees the trend. Here are all 18 of them in one place, and every row links back to the CrowdHealth page it came from.

05 / Before you decide

Common questions.

No. It is a health care crowdfunding community. Members pay a monthly membership fee and fund each other's bills directly. There is no insurer, no policy, no network, and no contractual guarantee that a given bill gets paid. You are trading a legal obligation for a community norm, and the payout data on this page is the evidence for whether that norm holds.
A monthly membership fee plus a variable contribution toward other members' bills. In June 2026 the typical monthly ask was $75 for members under 55, $150 for ages 55 to 64, and $225 for families of four or more. Code TFTC sets it at $99 per member per month for your first three months.
Over the 18 months CrowdHealth has published figures, 99.95% of eligible bills were funded, and members have crowdfunded $32,217,984 in total. Money reaches your account in about 9 days from submitting a complete bill.
Pre-existing conditions are the big one. Anything diagnosed, documented, or symptomatic before you joined is excluded, and it has been the number one rejection reason in every month on record. The rest of the top five in June 2026: Annual Wellness maximum exceeded; Submitted more than 6 months past the date of service; Dental care outside of Annual Wellness; Supplements. Roughly 4% of submitted bills get ruled ineligible.
CrowdHealth publishes its own monthly results, one page per month, each showing that month in isolation. We compiled every published month into a single series so you can see the trend rather than a snapshot. Every figure links back to the CrowdHealth page it came from.

CrowdHealth is not health insurance and nothing here guarantees any particular bill will be funded. TFTC has a paid sponsorship and referral arrangement with CrowdHealth, and we earn a commission when you join through this page. Figures are CrowdHealth’s own, compiled from 30 public pages at joincrowdhealth.com and current through June 2026. Monthly crowdfunding totals are derived from their published running total, and the two earliest are approximate because the source figures are rounded. The 141 entries in their public complaints log are overwhelmingly billing and cancellation issues rather than funding disputes. Not medical or financial advice.
